This Surah does so by a series of stories of the Prophets. It compels the people to do good as they will be rewarded with a place in Jannah and all the facilities of the world, however, if they go astray, they will have to face the wrath of Allah and will be thrown in the fires of Hell. Like other Meccan Surahs, Surah Maryam also deals with the matters of the hereafter, the punishments of the evil and the rewards of the good. It is the nineteenth Surah of the Quran and is of great importance.
Surah Maryam is a Makkan surah with 98 verses, named after Hazrat Maryam.
